Terms of Service

1. Definitions

• "User" means any person who creates a profile, uploads content, uses the services, or otherwise interacts with Volta Builders.
• "User Content" means any materials (text, images, designs, portfolios, outcome reports, etc.) uploaded, posted or submitted by a User.
• "Account" means the profile created by a User.
• "Service" means the Volta Builders platform, website, community, and all functionality offered to Users, including profile creation, portfolio uploads, browsing, interaction, etc.

2. Eligibility

• You must be legally capable of entering into a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
• Even though Users under 18 are allowed, by using the Service you represent that you can hold yourself accountable under these Terms.

3. Acceptance & Changes to Terms

• By creating an account or using Volta Builders, you accept these Terms.
• We may modify these Terms at any time. We'll post updated Terms on the site. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

4. User Obligations & Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload / post content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, pornographic, violent, threatening, or violates any laws.
• Infringe any intellectual property rights (copyright, trademark) of others.
• Upload content that violates someone's privacy (e.g. personal data of other people without consent).
• Spam, phishing, misleading content, impersonation, or using the Service to send unsolicited communications.
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, or degrade the Service or its security.

We reserve the right to remove any User Content or suspend/disable accounts that violate these rules.

5. Content Ownership & License

• Users retain ownership of their User Content.
• By uploading or submitting User Content, you grant Volta Builders a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide right to host, store, display, reproduce, modify (for technical/formatting reasons, e.g. resizing, cropping), and to feature that content (for example, in "featured portfolios" or marketing).
• You represent that you have all necessary rights to grant this license (i.e. the content is yours or you have permissions).

6. Moderation, Suspension, Termination

• We may suspend or disable Accounts or remove content if Users violate these Terms.
• We are not required to warn first; for serious violations we may act immediately.
• Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends; we may delete or disable access to your account & User Content, subject to any legal obligations to retain data.

7. Reporting Problems & Appeals

• If you believe another User is violating these Terms, or your account/content was disabled in error, email builders@voltaeffect.com with details.
• We will review reports, but we do not guarantee restoration or reversals; decisions are at our discretion.

8. Disclaimers & Liability

• The Service is provided "as is". We make no guarantees that content on the platform is accurate, reliable, or safe.
• Volta Builders is not responsible for damages arising from your reliance on User Content, interactions with other Users, or third parties.
• To the maximum extent permitted by law, Volta Builders' liability is limited.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Volta Builders (and its officers, employees, agents) from any claims, damages, liability, costs, losses arising from:

• your violation of these Terms;
• your User Content (including claims of IP infringement);
• your use of the Service.

10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

• These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada, including provincial law in Atlantic Canada.
• Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Atlantic Canada.

11. Intellectual Property of Volta Builders

• All branding, designs, text, and software of Volta Builders (excluding User Content) are owned by Volta Builders or its licensors.
• You may not copy, reproduce or use Volta Builders' trademarks, logos, or other proprietary materials except as permitted in writing.

12. Privacy

• Users' personal data is collected, stored, used in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
• By using the Service, you agree to that Policy.

13. Miscellaneous

• Severability: If any part of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
• Entire Agreement: These Terms + Privacy Policy + any other expressly linked policies constitute the entire agreement.
